Year 1 Confirmation Candidates

Due Date: At your May session (no later than the last day of May)

Confirmation Name: Candidates, you will select a Catholic patron saint whose name you will choose for your Confirmation name (you may use your Baptismal name). The person you choose can be someone who has been declared a Saint or “Blessed” by the Church. Your saint name should be meaningful to you, so pick a saint with whom you have something in common, or who has a trait you admire. Your saint name will become part of who you are. The Bishop will use your saint name at your Confirmation.

Saint Project: Once you have chosen your Catholic patron saint, please express in your choice of media (see examples below) some important characteristics of that saint and why you have chosen that saint. Your project needs to include:

• Who your saint is and what they stand for
• Why this saint is important to you now and how they will inspire you throughout your life

• Give a PowerPoint presentation with 4-6 slides
• Art – create a drawing, painting, or collage
• Write a song (you can perform it on electronic media or in-person)
• Write a poem
• Create a diorama
• Make a video 1-2 minutes or more
• Write a five-minute play (you can perform it live or on electronic media)
• Write a short report at least one page (include facts about the saint and why
• he/she is important to you in your life).
