St. Bede's Parish Staff and Bereavement Ministry is here to serve you, your family, and friends during this time of planning.

First, we would like to extend our sincere condolences for your loss. It is never easy to lose a loved one, no matter their age or circumstances. Know that you and your family will be in our prayers. If a loved one has been called home by God and you need to schedule a funeral or memorial service, please contact the parish office for assistance. A staff member will assist you with the initial preparations and schedule a meeting with a Bereavement Minister

FUNERAL STIPEND:

• $550 for registered parishioners 
  • **Must be registered for at least one year
  • Includes Graveside
• $750 for non-registered parishioners
  • Includes Graveside

VIGIL/ROSARY AT ST. BEDE CHURCH

• $300.00 for registered parishioners
• $500 for non-registered parishioners

• $150.00 - registered
• $300.00 - non-registered

Step One:

Contact a funeral home. The funeral home will work with St. Bede's Clergy, staff, and bereavement ministry on setting the date and time of the Funeral Liturgy. 

Some of the information that will be requested of you in the coming days includes:

• Would you like St. Bede's to publish your loved ones's name in our Prayers of the Faithful, our website and our bulletin?
• Is your loved one going to be cremated, or will his/her body be in a casket?  The Catholic Church teaches that cremated remains should be buried together in a place reserved for burials.  They should not be divided, nor stored in a personal home. 
• Will the funeral be in the church or chapel?
• Funerals can be live-streamed upon request, pending personnel availability.
• Where and when will your loved-one be buried?

Step Two:

Contact St. Bede's Parish to schedule a meeting with a member of our Bereavement Ministry. At this meeting, you will be able to choose which readings and songs you would like at your loved ones's Funeral Liturgy. Please know that our Bereavement Ministry can choose appropriate readings and songs for your loved ones Funeral Liturgy, if you prefer.

In order to assist you in understanding and planning for the Funeral we compiled a selection of readings, prayers, & music used in honoring the life of your loved one appropriate for the Catholic Funeral Rite.
