The loss of a loved one is one of the most difficult things we face in life. When that loss occurs or even before, you are encouraged to contact the Church for assistance in planning the Mass or service and burial. Usually the Church handles the religious details, and the funeral home handles the preparation and burial.
Our Bereavement Ministry head or one of the Liturgy Coordinators will schedule a meeting with you at your convenience to help you with the planning. If your loss is recent, it is best to meet with the Church after you have met with the funeral home and gone over your preferences and their needs and details. The church meeting can be scheduled either immediately following that meeting or at a later time based on your convenience. While there is much to do in planning a funeral, our Bereavement Ministry will guide you through and will take over as much or as little as you need. For preplanning, simply call the parish at your convenience.
To schedule a funeral and for assistance with planning the services contact the Parish at 818-949-4300. The Bereavement Minister will either hand hold you through the process or handle as much of the planning process as you wish. Your role for the most part involves selecting a few readings and the individuals to read them at the Mass.
