Brothers' Helpers is a charity that prepares, packages, delivers and serves hot, nutritious dinners Monday through Friday evenings to those in greatest need in downtown Los Angeles. This ministry began in 2003 at St. Bede with a handful of volunteers who joined together to assist in caring for the hungry and homeless living on Skid Row. What began as a local Catholic ministry meeting once a week to make and serve 60 meals grew to an interdenominational 501(c)3 charity, meeting in five separate locations one night each week to prepare and serve 600 meals weekly to the homeless, as well as supporting three shelters with an additional 150 meals each week.
Brothers Helpers volunteers and locations include St. Bede the Venerable Church in La Canada; Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Montrose; La Canada Presbyterian Church in La Canada; and St. James the Less Catholic Church in La Crescenta.
