Brothers' Helpers is a charity that prepares, packages, delivers and serves hot, nutritious dinners Monday through Friday evenings to those in greatest need in downtown Los Angeles. This ministry began in 2003 at St. Bede with a handful of volunteers who joined together to assist in caring for the hungry and homeless living on Skid Row. What began as a local Catholic ministry meeting once a week to make and serve 60 meals grew to an interdenomination 501(c)3 charity, meeting in five separate locations one night each week to prepare, deliver and serve over 1,600 meals weekly to the homeless.
Many volunteers are needed to keep this ministry successful and are welcome at all locations. Those under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their adult supervisor at all times. To volunteer just arrive at the designated location at the appropriate time:
