Congratulation on your Engagement! Thank you for choosing St. Bede for your wedding.
If you would like to have your wedding ceremony at St. Bede Church you must first contact one of the priests to set up an initial appointment.

Wedding are normally held on Saturdays at 10:00 am, 12:00 noon or 2:00 pm. Arrangements may be made for other days of the week or other times with the permission of the priest.
· We need a minimum of six months notice for a wedding.
· Both parties must be free to marry in the church. If there is a previous marriage which ended in divorce it must be discussed with the priest to see how best to resolve the situation.
· At least one party to the marriage must be Catholic.
· The Catholic parties or parties must obtain a copy of their baptismal certificates dated within the last six months. If the non-Catholic party is a baptized Christian, a photo copy of their baptismal certificate will suffice.
There are a few conditions which must be met before the date may be set:
· The couple must attend the Catholic Engaged Encounter, a weekend retreat for engaged couples. If it is impossible for you to attend this retreat, please inform the priest for other possibilities.
· Both the bride and groom need to have “Freedom to Marry” forms filled out by two close relatives, preferably parents, n.b. this is not their permission for you to marry, it is simply a statement that to their knowledge you are free to marry in the church.

Marriage Encounter is a worldwide organization to facilitate communication between husband and wife via a weekend spent together, away from the distractions of everyday life. It is an opportunity to concentrate on each other.
