To Have an Announcement Item Listed

It is easiest to send items via email to webmaster@bede.org. Please also include your name and telephone number so we can cantact you withthe inevitable questions.

Please describe clearly and completely what the item is. Remember that the Webmaster probably has no idea what is behind this item, and so depends on your explanation. Please address the "Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How" in your explanation.

If the item links to something else (either a page on bede.org or elsewhere on the Internet), please separately paste in a complete URL for that specific page or file. Do this in a separate paragraph.

Three Ways to send us Material Electronically

1. Email attachment to ron@the-networks.com.

2. Use the "Web Drop Box" located here. Use the browse button to locate the file on your system. Clicking open in the resulting file dialog window tells your computer what file to send. When you click send, the file is uploaded to our server and we are notified by email.

3. Point your FTP client software to ftp://the-networks.com/. Username: public, and password: public. Place files in the stbede directory. Anonymous FTP is not permitted. Please notify us when you FTP files to us.

What to Send & What Form to Send It In

Text:

Sending us Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) files is an excellent choice. Just be sure the file was created electronically (from another computer file), and not from a scanned document. PDF files created from scanned documents usually turn out to be huge files that are difficult for Web viewers to download.

Also send text in any word processing file format, however best is plain text (.txt file), Microsoft Word (.doc file), or Rich Text Format (.rtf file).

Please try not to send Microsoft Publisher files. They cannot be used unless we have the same version of Publisher you created them in. And we likely do not. If it is all you have, give it a try, but it may not work for us.

Hard copy (printed material) of text is not desirable, because it has to be retyped. This takes lots of time and makes errors more likely.

Photos & Graphics:

Images and pictures are best sent electronically. If you send images electronically, send as the highest resolution file you have, and we will process to display on the Web. Remember that photos can never be enlarged, and almost always need to be cropped and otherwise edited. Good file types to send are .JPG, .TIF, .PSD, and .EPS.

Please do not send images or pictures within a Microsoft Word file. We cannot work with those.
