The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults at St. BedeSt. Bede has a very active RCIA program that brings into the Catholic Church about 20 new members each year. If you:
The process of RCIA involves no pressure to "complete" anything or "convert" anyone; it is simply made available to anyone and everyone to learn, explore, and build an understanding of the Catholic Church, and to to reflect upon whether or not they are called to be a part of it. Our Two Programs:RCIA Inquiry now meets at two separate times: Tuesday evenings at 6:30 p.m., upstairs in the Parish Center -- and on Saturday mornings at 10:00 a.m. The Saturday group is made up of college students. "Family Faith First" is new to RCIA this year. "FFF" meets on the first Sunday afternoon of every month. It is a two-year faith journey for families whose children (over the age of 7) have not yet received the Sacraments of Baptism and/or 1st Communion. Through these monthly meetings, families are actively preparing their children for full reception into the Catholic Church by the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and 1st Communion. These Sacraments of Initiation will be received-- in their entirety-- at a future Easter Vigil. FFF meets at 4:15 p.m. upstairs in the Parish Center and includes family attendance at the Sunday 5:30 p.m. Youth Mass.
